Welcome Aboard.
Since the earliest days of sail, there
has been something special about traveling by ship. It’s about fresh air
and sunshine. Breathtaking vistas and 360-degree views. New cultures and
delightful discoveries. It’s unhurried and relaxing.
It is the magical experience of discovering the world and enjoying the
special ambiance of an immaculately run ship that drives everything we do
at Silversea Cruises.
Since their inception in 1994, Silver Seas has dedicated themselves to defining the
elite luxury experience – going above and beyond to achieve the
distinction of being the world’s best. Thoroughly modern ships with every
technical innovation. Spacious ocean-view suites, with sumptuous
furnishings and appointments – most with a private veranda. Inspired
cuisine and the finest wines and spirits poured with our compliments. But
it is more than these things that set up apart. It’s an understanding of
what it takes to make Silver Sea guests feel at home and welcome.
Like Silversea, our commitment is to always go above and beyond. Our passion is exceeding
your expectations. Our reward is achieving excellence in your eyes.
About Silversea:
Silversea is a cruise company reflecting generations of maritime and
travel experience. In the early 1990s, the Lefebvre family of Rome, former
owners of Sitmar Cruises, conceived and organized a unique cruise company
pledging to build and operate the highest quality ships in the
ultra-luxury segment. The name "Silversea" was chosen because it connotes
quality and luxury as well as capturing the romance and special sensations
of the sea.
Silver Seas Launched its first ship, Silver Cloud in 1994, followed by
Silver Wind in 1995, Silver Shadow in 2000 and the newest ship Silver
Whisper in 2001. The fleet was purpose-built for the ultra-luxury market,
establishing a new class of smaller, intimate vessels that could slip into
more exotic ports off the beaten path.
These elite vessels were
specifically designed for fewer guests, more space and the highest levels
of personalized service, delivered by Italian officers and European staff.
All-ocean view suites, most with private veranda, and open seating dining
options so guests dine when, where and with whom they desire, add to the
very special ambiance created onboard. But what is also unique is that
they incorporate the favorite amenities found on larger ships, such as an
elaborate show lounge featuring nightly entertainment, casino, spa and
state-of-the-art fitness facility.
As an innovator in the ultra-luxury segment, Silversea quickly became the
favorite among modern affluent travelers with its all-inclusive pricing,
and unmatched onboard product enhanced by partnerships with the world's
most respected luxury brands --Bvlgari, Moët & Chandon, Davidoff and
Relais & Châteaux.
Today, Silversea is recognized as the defining elite luxury experience and
is regularly lauded by leading consumer and trade publications. The list
of accolades constantly grows: Silversea was voted "World's Best" by the
readers of Conde Nast Traveler in 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001;
and, the readers of Travel & Leisure consider Silversea to be the very
best small ship cruise line as well (1997, 1998, 2000). In 2000 and 2001
Silversea was rated The Best Cruise Company by the Telegraph Travel
Awards, UK. The line's exceptional product has consistently garnered the
highest possible accolades from leading guide books including: Six Stars,
Fielding's Guide to Worldwide Cruises (1996,1997,1998, 1999); Six-plus
Ribbons, Stern's Cruise Guide (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001); Six Stars,
Access Cruise Guide (1997 - debut year); "Number One Cruise Line" and
"Number One Cruise Ship Cuisine", America Online (1997); "Top Cuisine -
Luxury Ship Segment", Cruise Week (2002) and "Best of the Best" Suites,
Travel Holiday (1995).
Taking the company into the future is Albert Peter, Silversea's Chief
Executive Officer. Since taking the leadership reins in November 2001, Mr.
Peter has steered the company to a steady course of high customer
satisfaction, financial stability and new product innovation. Shortly
after his arrival at Silversea, Mr. Peter rolled out a number of new
initiatives and programs tailored to the most discriminating world
traveler seeking highly personalized and enriching experiences. Looking
toward the future, Mr. Peter remains squarely focused on delivering the
highest rated elite luxury experience for guests while also ensuring
successful financial results for the company’s private shareholders.
Latest News:
Ultra-luxury Silversea Cruises today announced the expansion of its
well-received Personalized Voyages SM program to all its ships. The
innovative program was first announced in July for 2003 voyages aboard
Silver Cloud. As a result of the program’s tremendous success and consumer
appeal, Silversea will now offer Personalized Voyages aboard all Silversea
vessels beginning in January 2003.
With Silversea’s Personalized Voyages, now available aboard all Silversea
ships, guests can enjoy the flexibility and convenience of creating the
luxury cruise vacation they have always imagined - choosing the length of
their voyage and embarking and disembarking from their choice of a wide
selection of enticing ports.
“The overwhelming response and favorable feedback to Personalized Voyages
have encouraged us to roll out the program on all our vessels,” said
Albert Peter, Silversea’s Chief Executive Officer. “The great success of
Personalized Voyages is attributed to the fact that it addresses the needs
of today’s luxury traveler by giving them total vacation flexibility.
We’re enabling guests to customize their vacation experiences to fit their
needs, not the other way around. With today’s affluent traveler, the most
precious luxury is time. By offering guests a way to control time and make
the most of it, we are helping to define the new ultimate luxury vacation
experience.”
Customizing a Personalized Voyage aboard a Silversea vessel is easy. The
company’s 2003 revised Cruise Atlas, due out shortly, contains a listing
of over two hundred approved embarkation and disembarkation ports, daily
rates, plus complete terms and conditions of the program. Guests can
cruise for as long as they desire, with a minimum of five nights in a row.
To determine the cost of a Personalized Voyage, guests simply select a
desired suite category, then add up the daily rate of the days they plan
to be onboard. Guests will need to arrange their own air transportation,
but Silversea will be happy to assist with hotel and/or transfer
arrangements in select ports. Guests opting not to book under the
Personalized Voyages program can still confirm a Silversea cruise vacation
by booking either a comprehensive value air/sea fare or simple cruise-only
fare.
For the ultimate in convenience and ease of planning, travel agents and
guests can now log on to www.silversea.com and visit the site’s newly
created Personalized Voyages section. To build a custom itinerary, web
site visitors can use the section’s “Search Button” to select the month,
destination, or desired embarkation port. Site visitors select the desired
ship, port of embarkation, port of disembarkation, and suite category
desired, and the cruise-only fare will be conveniently and quickly
displayed. Silversea’s Venetian Society members can also enter their
membership number and their cruise fare will be displayed reflecting the
5% Venetian Society savings, available on all Personalized Voyages.
Added Peter, “Personalized Voyages is truly an innovative concept and with
our web site’s new enhancement, it is now easier and more convenient than
ever to select a Personalized Voyage and calculate the cost.”
